Rising above all the other buildings in the city is the Marble Palace, where King Gilead lives. This is by far the most well-protected building in the city, or perhaps even the kingdom of Bashar. Other than its magically-charged high walls, there are guards of several disciplines posted all around the palace.

The marketplace adds a flash of color to the city of Avaritia, with farmers from just outside the city selling their harvest and ranchers selling their food as well. Artisans come to sell their creations at extortionate prices, weapons and art alike. In the center of the marketplace rests an auctionhouse.

The Grinning Fox Inn and Alehouse is quiet by day, but a warm place to go to drink and be merry at evening. Many of the locals come here at night to rest after long days of working. Stretching for many floors above the tavern is the inn for weary travelers to rest for the night.

Despite the fairly low crime rate in Avaritia, the courthouse is kept running mostly with a wide variety of civil disputes and other trials originating outside of Avaritia. The courthouse sits atop the underground prison, where criminals are kept and guarded.

The small temple is a popular location for young lovers to come to get married. While Amavi does not require regular worship, many lovelorn people come here to pray for a lover or that their present lover be faithful.

Along the outside of Avaritia, houses are spread in organized neighborhoods where its many citizens live. There are plenty of houses and low rent so there are very few street rats in Avaritia.
